Sometimes falls when horse riding are unpreventable but riders can learn to fall more safely. Here are RS-tor's 5 Top Tips for a Safer Fall.

1. Try to relax as the fall occurs - rigid muscles are injured more easily.

2. Try not to put an arm out to break a fall.

3. If you are in an open area, try to roll when you land, creating a ‘spin’ action away from the horse - the more spin you put into a fall, the less impact one part of your body will take.

4. If you are surrounded by horses, make your body shape as small and tight as possible.

5. Only keep hold of your reins if it is safe to do so, and if you are ‘in control’ of the fall.

The RS-tor offers a beneficial mechanism to make unpreventable falls safer. The strap which attaches to the saddle bars is designed as a safety aid to help prevent falls, or allow the rider to fall in a more controlled manner; the strap has a ‘bungee’ element that helps prevents rider falls by ‘absorbing’ the velocity of being unseated. The RS-tor’s fall prevention aspect comes into effect when the horse spooks, bucks, rears, cat-leaps or stumbles, although its confidence-boosting benefits are always experienced!
