RS-tor advocate and ambassador rider Micheala Huntington has shown prowess in the show-ring yet again as her super show jumper Alegro Z has snapped up the winning position in the recent All Stars Jumping Championship.

For many people Bonfire Night is an enjoyable evening spent watching spectacular firework displays and warming themselves by a bonfire, but for horse owners it can be a time of concern and distress. Fireworks can frighten even the most sensible horse, so all horse owners should be prepared for the firework season. The British Horse Society has issued the following advice for owners:

Incredible, pioneering research sees Darek Fidyka a paralysed man now walk with a frame while sensation has returned to his lower limbs.

 

The surgery involved transplanting olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) from the nose to the spinal cord. OECs assist the repair of damaged nerves that transmit smell messages by opening up pathways for them to the olfactory bulbs in the forebrain.

 

Relocated to the spinal cord, they appear to enable the ends of severed nerve fibres to grow and join together – something that was previously thought to be impossible.
